At Brayva we are very conscious about the environmental issues that we are being faced with as a society. As a small business it is challenging to do things perfectly, but we are doing what we can and are aware of the areas we need to improve on. Today, on Earth Day we want to be transparent about these things and acknowledge room for improvement. We only have one earth and whilst it seems like a mammoth task to turn things around for the better, if every person on the planet did their bit, it would make the world of difference (pardon the pun).
At Brayva we have worked hard to obtain fast shipping for our customers. However, we also consider each couriers carbon footprint and environmental policy. Currently, Brayva uses multiple couriers in order to obtain the best shipping speed depending on your location including: CouriersPlease, Aramex, Australia Post and Sendle. Each of these carriers is either carbon neutral or made a promise to be carbon neutral in the near future. For international shipments Brayva uses DHL and pays an added fee in order to offset any carbon emissions per shipment.
At Brayva we are very aware of the impact that plastic and landfill has on the environment. For shipping packaging, we only use biodegradable products including compostable mailers or cardboard boxes. Some of our products are packaged in plastic, with no other option as a small business to keep the products safe in transit but this is something that as we grow, we will be trying to rectify as soon as we can by finding alternative eco-friendly packaging options.
Our water bottles help us raise awareness for the detrimental effects that single use plastic has on the environment. These bottles are built to last as a reusable product allowing our customers to refill repeatedly, reducing plastic ending up in landfill and reducing resources taken to make bottled water. Did you know that they are now finding micro plastic in human blood, primarily coming from plastic bottles. This is terrifying and there’s a simple fix. If everyone used reusable water bottles, we would significantly reduce the burden plastic is having on our planet and now on our health.
We predominantly work online, reducing paper use and recycle when we do use paper. Through our journey to inspire and motivate you to be the best and healthiest version of yourself, we want to make sure that we are doing our part to ensure the planet is headed in the right direction.
